Mr. R. Lim and Mrs. L. Kim Residence
Chanticleer Homes
6150 South Elm Street
Burr Ridge, Illinois 60521
Special Notes:

This custom 16,000+ square foot estate in northern Burr Ridge was designed in and around a large tree in the front courtyard. It is a blend of architectural styles and elements which include western lodge style architecture, mission and Asian influences. Nestled into the hillside, the major interior spaces all have spectacular views of the surrounding property. The house showcases several custom wood trusses that were constructed traditionally; with wood dowels and tie bars in lieu of nails and glue. Each truss is a showpiece in and of itself.

One of the unique features of the home is the two first floor kitchens. The main kitchen, which is used less frequently, is also used with guests and for parties. Some parties include a guest chef which works behind an island that seats eight. The ‘prep’ kitchen, which is separated from the main kitchen by a 150 square foot walk-in pantry, is where most of the main cooking takes place. It is also used for catering and as ingredient preparation for the guest chefs.

Second floor features includes four large bedroom suites and a two level playroom for the kids complete with ships ladder and loft space.
